Hope College Seeks New President
The Board of Trustees of Hope College announces the search for the College’s twelfth president. The search is being launched in response to Dr. James Bultman’s decision to retire following the 2011-2012 academic year after thirteen years of distinguished service as Hope’s president, a period of steady growth for the institution.
The mission of Hope College is to educate students for lives of leadership and service in a global society through academic and co-curricular programs of recognized excellence in the liberal arts and in the context of the historic Christian faith. The College seeks a visionary leader who inspires excellence in others and is committed to and capable of advancing the mission.
It is important that the successful candidate shares the core values that shape Hope: to offer rigorous academic programs -- to contribute to the body of knowledge in the academic disciplines -- to nurture vibrant Christian faith -- to be a caring community -- to foster development of the whole person, intellectually, socially and physically -- to be wise stewards of resources. This person will be capable of communicating, with clarity, Hope’s mission, vision and distinguishing qualities, to its various constituencies.
